Hi Johan,   Your rolling again,  I have a few of the earlier metal flaps used inside the rims and later replaced by rubber flaps, which prevent pinching the inner tube when assembling the two halves of the combat rim.    Made by Firestone, dated 9-43 and sized 600 / 650 , originally plated but the plating has corroded to either edge of the rim.            Norman D.
