10 year old thread and I found something New ☺️ While doing some research on a Navy MIA/KIA Pilot I found this signal Mirror in his personnel belongings, Family saved everything Anyway while doing the research part of this Group I found this thread and NOTICED this MIRROR is a bit different from the ESM/1 posted at the start of thread I noticed this packaging is not shown or referenced SO Here is the PACKAGING MARKED AS ESM/1 and the MIRROR IS MARKED Pat. Applied for, Unlike the one posted at the start Pilot was MIA / KIA Aug 45 Anyway for future references I will include the photos of the what must be an Early Military Packaging for this PAT APPLIED FOR Variation NOTE this Mirror has Pat Applied for Printed at the bottom and NO SPEC NO. PACKAGE MARKED ESM/1 -

I am not a Randall expert, but I do not think I have seen another where the name is on the same side as the Randall Logo. AGAIN, I am not an expert. I agree with not selling it, but as a collector of knives, I may be biased. Here is my oldest 2-8. -

The most often and typically used flight suit would be the M-426A. However, like the footwear, others were worn The AN-S-31, an M-421 flight jacket with khaki trousers, I've even seen photos of HBT coveralls in use. But again if you want the "typical' I'd go with the M-426A. -

Looks like it was used to cook in and looks like it was used to pound in tent stakes and someone beat the dents back out on the top. Its also very chewed up which I doubt very much was caused by storing improperly. Is the size and placement of tac marks correct? Id also want to look at the white paint with a magnifying glass. It did not come from the vet or family of the vet. It could be what anyone wants it to be. Id stay away from it personally. I would not want it.
