Great thread! I did not see the variant I've got in my collection. Admittedly I know next to nothing about these. Is this one any good? No provenance - though it did come out of a collection with lots of good stuff (but not without some old  fakes).

I checked those out 66 Cobra. Those are the wire cutter versions which are commercially available. They are selling these as the ones that were accepted by the USMC and thus extremely rare. Either out of ignorance or pure larceny. Eickhorn currently makes them for the Bundeswehr G6 rifle and has a Nato version. Eickhorn has them at $300 USD (257 Euros). There are 2 on Gunbroker for around $800 which is way more than what I paid for the real thing.

To add onto this thread, why didn't L.G. Balfour make a 3" small shield Service Pilot wing?

Just received this CATERPILLAR Lapel Pin to add to my collection ++ Still need an Evader Patch to complete the trifecta 😉 Interestingly this one DOES NOT have any engraving on the back of the Round Fastener It is however marked 14k on reverse of Pin and done with very good detail,    I dont expect this is a Reproduction/Fake so a few possibilities   Since this one looks to have its original Fastener ? and I see no evidence of engraving I suspect either the original Fastener was lost or this one somehow got sent without the engraving OR Could these have been available additionally by members at one time in the past ? Anyway here are some CLOSE up Photos and comparison size photos Oh and a little quick display I put together to showcase the collection so far

As QED4 mentioned, the Road Runner patch is not specifically military but it was a popular 'counter-culture' design patch popular on tour or souvenir jackets during the 1960's and 1970's. Here is another example which came from an US Air Force veteran I believe was made in Korea (possibly Japan) in the late 1960's or early 1970's.
