It looks like a Command Pilot wing for C.A.P. The CAP insignia site points to use between 1948-1977. Based on the site, the wreath is a variation with most of the versions just having the star for this wing. Nice find! http://incountry.us/cappatches/Metal/Metal.html -

. British Army Mechanics, Never do laying down, what you can do standing up. It was a fairly routine way of repairing Jeep gearboxes in the British army during WWII. Back in the 1970's whilst ploughing through an off-road course on a 4 x 4 event, a friend snapped the splines on his rear drive shaft. We pushed the Jeep onto its side to remove the plate on the rear axle differential to prise the couple of inches of broken spline out the differential gearing and he drove it home on front wheel drive. Fantastic. A wonderful reminder of the work going on at home to support the war effort. -

Could have been damaged after the Civil War by heavy duty farming equipment (such as plows, etc). Lots of battles fought on farm fields, that were continued to be farmed for many years after the war. -

. I said that I never send my ex-wife a card, well I relented today and sent a gentle image of a dog waving it's paw by WhatsApp with a short message of ' Happy Birthday '. She's had some health issues last year Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, May 13 2O25. …. -
