Thats funny stuff, nothing to do with inspections, but I remember the latrine graffiti at FIG or Fort Indiantown Gap, written on the wall it said, Last night as I lay in my bunk, I ask God what I am doing here at FIG, God replied, Where?       

The gilded flight surgeon wings look WW2 and are hallmarked A.E. Co. The unmarked wings you have look like graduation wings (3 &4 hash marks in shoulder) and have been attributed to Robbins. The cliche wings (navigator and air crew with a mirror strike on back) look good and would be late WW2 to Korean War.   I've seen another example of the Gemsco Service Pilot wings you have and would guess WW2 vintage.

I just came across this badge being sold within a group of medals online.  It is for the Sons of American Veterans.  I couldn't find much information about the group with some simple google searches.  Is this group related to AM-VETS?  I don't know.   The badge is uniface and had no maker's mark on the reverse.  The design bears likeness to other medals I have seen issued by states to commemorate WWI.  However, those are usually in the form of an eight pointed star.  This is more like a four armed cross with rays eminated sideways from the arms, rather than radially from the center.   Does anyone know anything more about this badge, or group?  

Depends on what you define as good and bad. The command service pilot is definitely bad as that was not a real rating to my knowledge.  Vanguard wings are post WWII.  wings with alpha-numeric makers codes are post WWII.  Meyer wings with long nailhead pins are probably post WWII.  The Observers in post 8 look like souvenir junk.  Marty 

Our whole Kaserne, (Anderson Barracks) was a former Wermacht facility. Refurbished barracks and I suppose additional buildings. Still in existence from what I gather, but abandoned for years.

Each knife you get into or plan to purchase,  you have to become a part time temporary expert just to make an informed purchase.  Bought the 2 L77's last week. That was also a fast learning curve.  Have $1000 in Randal books. And something like a bomb stamp on a Case M3 gets me into a temp tailspin. HA HA    I read a large batch showed up in the 80's and 90's. Did not know they were put together from spare parts?  Thought they were just old inventory? That received the later scabbards.
