Small world, I spent the last months of my enlistment at Bergstrom from 76-77.  Assigned to 67 AMS and spent a few months working out of 91 TRS doing mechanical eval of photo systems.                    

Wow, recalled for WWII? Any idea why someone of his age would be recalled?

I appreciate your post, again these are all just things I’ve heard from other people. I obviously don’t have my experiences. And also to your point about it being insulting saying it was for people without a path, so did not mean that In a Negative light, that’s just what I’ve been told and have seemed to gather from others. None of what I said was to be insulting, I’m just saying that it’s what I’ve heard and was really wondering if that was how it was, I’m also guessing since you guys were in. I really don’t know, I want to check it out as a serious option and am wondering what to pursue, and what you have experienced. Also thanks Rakkasan, that answered a good amount of my questions. Ok so I’m quite inexperienced in this but I have done a little research…. I’ve learned from this forum that the scabbard is US issue and potentially pre 1944. The knife however is not! I finally managed to read the engraving by the guard- astier prodos thier  A French trench combat knife which may be a WW1 piece. I just wish I could see the story of how a French fighting knife from WW1 ended up in a bayonet scabbard from WW2 and then ended up in a shed in the center of the UK….   If I am wrong about any of these details or if anyone knows better/more then please let me know. I’m fascinated by this find.

Managed to pick these up,  but wondering if these are early ww2 or a bit later going by the berries on the wings. I'm not exactly positive I like the catch itself, any thoughts?

Here are a few I have. As you can see the Command Pilot Wing  LGB came in a Navigator Box. These Wings have been in the same box for years. A couple of 2 inch Luxembergs. A 2 inch Balfour Bombardier. A 2 inch Balfour Senior Pilot. All appear to be NOS. Enjoy!       

Do you have the USS Spadefish available by chance? My husband's great grandpa was a torpedo man on the ship and I would love to get him that flag!
