I have an attributed example of this wing awarded in early 1941 so these were definitely first issued "pre-war".  If these were made by Blackinton, it is a different pattern than the known Blackinton pattern.  I had wondered if these might have been made by the newly identified wing make M.C. Lilley & Co.  All of these I have seen appear to be silver plated brass, and none have had a metal mark or maker's mark.

"Overall" Goodwill items don't go for much....except for flight helmets, those go bonkers. They ship everything by FedEx Ground, so you get your item within a couple days, but the you usually pay more in postage, handling and tax than what you paid for the item. This blouse was only 8 bucks, but by the time everything else got added in, it was close to $22. Of course, if you bid on something pricey, then the postage is a bargain.   Mark sends

When my Dad was in the Philippines at the end of WW II, he went to Corregidor. Despite the dire warning signs not to pick up souvenirs, he did bring back a few brass shell cases- a 105mm, 37mm anti- tank, 20mm, and a large Japanese howitzer (?) shell. This is a few photo of the Japanese brass case. It looks like the projectile/case joint was sealed with wax paper.

In 1947- 1950 the Japanese were selling anything they could to simply survive.

I am surprised that it would fit many American men. The suit fit me fairly well but I was only 10 or 11 years old.

In the very early '60s I was stationed in Babenhausen with a Corporal Guided Missile direct support detachment. We had a nice Rod & Gun Club there and every once in a while they had various small arms for sale. No one ever knew where this stuff was coming from but it was available and CHEAP! I bought a 7.63 broom handle Mauser for $25, A P38 for $12, and a Polish Radom 9mm for $8 and an S42 Luger for $18. Our arms room had as may privately owned weapons as it had issue M14s.   I still own the Radom.

Found one minus the belt in a thrift store years ago. Collar looked like fox fur. Block of Japanese text on the inside flap. Right next to it in the thrift store was a smoking jacket that looks like it was made from an old Japanese blanket.   Funny you said it was unissued. I think there's a lot of unissued Japanese gear that makes it out to collectors.

Looks like a worn unmarked Blackinton to me.
