1913 sabres were produced in 1918 by Springfield Armory, 5000 of them, I recently had one converted to a knife, interestingly no sabres are recorded being made in 1916 but as you mention they do exist, 284 blades were produced in 1916 so it might be that they are sabers with replacement blades or built at a later date. My reference on the subject and which I would recommend is, Swords & Sabers of the United States Army 1867-1918, by Farrington, there is about a 65 page chapter on the subject. -

Thanks, 3338thqmtruckco, appreciate you posting. I really like the 101st DUI and the Master jump wings engravings! -

With a little bit of internet help I was able to Id that ribbon bar/uniform to admiral Alan Shepard. However most of the ribbon are out of order. -

THANKS Allan, Very much appreciated !! I recently turned it up while going through some Boxes. Unfortunately I can't can't even recall when or where I obtained it. Both pieces however are in beautiful condition, & based upon the associated Medal indentation in the Case, they at least appear to have been together for quote a while ? Perhaps I should Post a Photo or two up, just in case there's something I'm missing or failed to notice ? As you said, hopefully Dave will provide us with his thoughts on this ? Thanks again !! Best, Dom
