Hello to all.   Which branch would be this helmet yellow then black rank painted Technical Sgt be ?   It’s on a Swivel bale front seam helmet. No back Nco stripe.   - Ranks are yellow in the USMC but i guess it would have also a red background too ?   - I also sometimes see Army drill instructors having their helmet painted with bright colors to be clearly seen by recruits   What’s your opinion on it ?   Thanks

@Threewood This pattern Balfour is also my latest wing pick up. I found an observer and flight surgeon in gold and silver. I believe this is the pattern some refer to as the “Dazzle” pattern. Some of my favorites. 

Old topic, but I found a 1939 date insert yesterday. Here it is next to my 4 gallon 1941 dated insert.

Hmmm... The paratrooper second from the right on the bottom picture looks to have one... Not sure though. 

Those don't appear to be be shrimp nets either.
