saw this n FB post and thought it may be of interest here. Original fender with the war time paint intact.     

Went to a Photographica Fair over the weekend. Spotted some German 10x80 "FLAKglas" binoculars on offer.  Not something I collect though. Not a lot of other militaria beyond photographs and books. Came home with a rare pre-war Leica 28mm viewfinder ....that was worth about as much as another Leica body. For an upcoming living history event I'm doing some art-and-crafts, reproducing some legal-to-display WW2 US Army demolition material.

Thanks Lars. I appreciate your comment. Sorry it's been going a little slower than normal, since it's all being scratchbuilt. Here I've finished the palm tree and in the background by the paint jars you can see the small tree that I'll be putting together. I've constructed a wall, a sidewalk/catwalk, that can be seen near the bottom left of the picture, along with a Shell gas station sign. Once things get done, I'll commence to put everything together, so they mesh into a decent diorama. Please enjoy the palm tree. BTW, everything will be tweaked, weathered and dirtied up, for realism. I would like to add to this thread my one pocket patch for the 42nd Engineer Company.  In the previous picture, the patch has "Distinguish" while mine has "Qualified."
