I’ve bought groups before that included the stamps, but never seen the kit with ink before.  Very cool!

Anything US Vietnam era. Once in a while you can run into some WWII stuff, both US and German.   Just behind the JJ market is a large 6 or 7 story building / mall with vintage stuff. It got one floor with furniture stuff, 2-3 floors with clothes including uniforms and such. Basically you’ll find anything antique / vintage at this place. Got a floor with some nice watch shops, vintage Rolex GMTs and Subs, even some Seiko Vietnam era. On one of the floors you got a few shops with only military clothes, some of these guys are on Instagram as well.   Its called Red Building Vintage Chatuchak. This is open every day, as for the JJ market it’s only open on weekends. Red Building Vintage is worth checking out.   Best Martin

Bill Millin famous for playing his bagpipes during the D-Day landings and immortalised in the 1960's film ' The Longest Day ' travelled with us back in 1976.   That summer was one of the hottest on records and we visited Paris, when I tried to start my motor the starter motor went in and stuck due to the excessive heat, and Bill jokingly walked around the Jeep playing a Scottish lament. The LOM is interesting. Hard to be definitive in pictures. The brooch is probably the same used for USN LOMs. The ribbon looks post war with the slightly larger white stripe. As you said, the ring is not the thick USN type. The planchet does not match the green spaced enamel of US Mint Navy LOMs. The planchet stars, light green detailed enamel, thin suspension loop and ring most closely resembles some of my Irons and Russell pieces in the 2800 range. Is there a hallmark on top of the suspension loop?   Mike

Hi all,   I picked up this LoM at the Show of Shows and I’m not sure what to make of it. The short ribbon and gilted wrap brooch are the typical early WW2 type seen on Navy contract LoMs. However, this medal has a larger thin suspension ring, as opposed to the small thick rings normally seen on Navy Contact medals. Additionally, the pendant has several characteristics that are different than what I’ve normally seen on Navy medals with the wrap brooch. The pendant is definitely made of sterling. My initial thought is that it is an Army pendant with a Navy ribbon/brooch, but I am far from a LoM type expert. Thoughts?
