Thanks Phill I appreciate the information, very helpful. OK so the set in my collection is a U.S. production Thanks again I should of considered the STERLING mark as being US made but I never really gave it much thought as to the country of origin. Another clue revealed Thanks again, Oh and the shoulder patch material Info is very welcome as well -

This seems to be a HeWhoShallNotBeNamed “museum quality reproduction”. -

Good morning Phroger. Thank you for sharing your recent CAA wing acquisition with us. I noticed your wing with the side profile of the Wright Flyer depicted at the top of this thread appears to lack crispness in the front lettering and has a number of small flaws and inconsistencies which suggests to me the piece may not be die-struck and not an authentic original period badge? -

It appears to me at least that this is another example of a cast reproduction. -

No worries they aren’t the clearest of photo to be honest . I’ve zoomed them in now so hopefully that helps . -

The photos do not have enough detail to give you a 100% answer. Could you turn the phone sideways to a landscape orientation and make the magnification larger? Allan -

GF . You are young and are going to have to blaze your own trail. My grandfathers bother was an ambulance driver in WW1, My grandmas brother was ww2 infantry my dads brother was USMC fire control and my cousin was VN infantry replacement. and my dad volunteered for Korea and ended up jumping into Alaska. At 18 I wasn't having any of that sni+ I joined the Navy and they introduced me to Typhoons and the Hothie grandparents but still I could have not made a better decision to join anything in my short life. -

I’m under a lot of tension trying to follow the spring discussion. If I understand you, there was a factory spec and spring part number called out to be used in production and service. And this specification changed at certain times. So is your discussion about what is “correct and proper” for your specific jeeps, or is it about what works best for you personally? Or both? Once again, I hope you are forgiving of my ignorance, but gosh dang it, I find your knowledge and familiarity with all the fine details of jeepishness fascinating. It’s all a new world for me. mikie -

In the 1980s my grandfather was a police chief. The city he worked in had Thompsons in their swat room. Back in the 90s my cousin was a swat commander in a large city. They had m16a1s in wooden crates from the government still in their swat room. Most of this firepower was housed in swat rooms or armory’s and signed out for tasks
