Evening all. Picked up a BDU with this patch on the sleeve. My initial guess was a transport unit. However I can not identify the unit from any of my research. Any help is appreciated -

Interesting letter. Says the pistol was supposed to use ".38 S&W Special Cartridge & U.S. Service Cartridge". This strikes me as interesting... was there some distinction between the .38 S&W and the service cartridge? -
