Another treasure I just re-found in my pile o'stuff. Seems to me someone told me years ago it was an Arlington Cemetary Old Guard buckle. Looks a little small for that to my eye, but hoping one you old salts have seen one before. Any info appreciated; thanks, Allen -

Let's all step back and take a breath- It's to easy to look back at history with the 20/20 vision of present day hindsight. This is an interesting topic on an interesting weapon. Let's keep it on track. -

Recommend you request an Individual Deceased Personnel File (IDPF). From the 416th Bomb Group Web site: https://www.416th.com/Memorials/416th_IDPFs.html For WWII U.S. Army Soldiers whose surnames begin with letters M thru Z: E-Mail: [email protected] U.S. Postal Mail: Department of the Army US Army Human Resources Command ATTN: AHRC-FOIA 1600 Spearhead Division Avenue, Department 107 Fort Knox KY 40122-5743 WWII U.S. Army IDPFs for surnames M-Z from Ft. Knox HAVE BEEN digitized, thus the processing/response time is much faster. Good luck -

Welcome! Wow! Post Civil War-Pre WWI era is pretty lightly represented here so your collection should help fill the gap. I look forward to seeing and learning about it. Please post lots of pictures and explanations of what you are showing. mikie -

"Not sure how a question about identifying a 1967 bayonet model has become the opportunity to start a political argument, especially about an event 58 years ago." Oh I dont know.... could have been this picture from 58 years ago... Its soaked in politics. Dripping with it. And I for one did not know I was arguing.....? -

Might be a dumb question, but are we sure this is a child's sword, and not one for ceremonial use? My wife's uniform sword is 29 inches in length, and there's a smaller one (28 inches) available too. -

Actually, I've had this one for a couple of weeks, meant to post and got sidetracked; unitil, i.e., I saw the wonderful posting by Walksaheap. I thought it was a big deal (for me 😆) Until I saw his wonderful collection!
